X-man and I hit up The Container Store last weekend – my first trip there since the move (I’m amazed it took so long!). We had our shopping list, measuring tape, and, of course, snacks! He was a trooper and even helped carry laundry hampers across the store.
The main room I worked on was the kitchen, and the first area of attack was the silverware drawer. I don’t even need to explain why – just look at this picture… (more…)

The blog doesn’t show it, but I have made progress putting the house together. However, yesterday’s organizing adventure was just a classic example of doing work without anything to show for it.
Our playroom doubles as a guest room since the previous owners left their Murphy bed (genius!), but there isn’t any storage for guests’ clothing. I bought cubbies, but then decided to get creative and use furniture we currently have. (more…)

Lil’ TJ gave me a longer than normal nap this afternoon so I was finally able to finish working on our master bathroom. And I use the term “finish” loosely – there is (and almost always will be) improvements to do, but I’m calling it done for now. I finalized homes for items and incorporated products to give a little structure to the organization. (more…)

Last summer I wrote about my love of lists and how they had gotten out of hand (To Do List: Too Much of a Good Thing?). At that time, I found 18 To Do Lists scattered through the house. My personal To Do List management needed some TLC.
I’m still working on managing everything in my life, but I have found a great tool to help me keep my To Do Lists under control: Workflowy (Workflowy.com). According to the website, “WorkFlowy is the world’s best tool for taking notes and making lists.” I couldn’t agree more. It is the organizing tool that I’m totally giddy about at the moment. (more…)
